Our Story
My Name is Tristan Cochran and I’m the founder and sole employee of Teacy Nail Calls. I’ve been making nail calls for about three years now and love being a small part of helping people hunt turkeys.
I’m a 21-year-old college student getting my business degree online at Valdosta State. Both of my parents are educators, my dad is coming up in his 26th year and my mom left being a high school science teacher to homeschool me and my brother when we were diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. My brother and I both started showing signs of Tourette’s Syndrome when we were around 7 or 8 years old. Having Tourette’s Syndrome has challenged me and my brother but it’s something I’m very glad to have as it made me who I am and showed me that you can’t use things as an excuse because someone always has it worse than you.
My dad started taking me deer hunting with some close family friends when I was around 9 years old and that’s when I started to develop my love for hunting. Those same friends have let us hunt year after year with them and we’ve made some great memories together whether deer, duck, turkey, or dove hunting. I can think back to all the good times we’ve had sitting in their living room talking or them helping me shoot my first turkey.
One of my favorite parts of turkey hunting is getting to hear multiple gobblers gobbling back and forth during the hunt, as there are very few sounds in the woods that can get me as excited as hearing a distant gobble. This is why when I started making nail calls. I knew it was something I was very passionate about because I don’t get to hunt very often but by making nail calls I get to help other people do what I love, which is a very rewarding feeling.
Thanks for checking out Teacy Nail Calls and I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about me!
